Research

Established in 2012, GRMRC consists of two research groups: the Medical Genetics Research Group and the Regenerative Medicine Research Group. The Medical Genetics Research Group focuses on translating genetic research into greater understanding of human genetic diseases, and to generate improved methods for the detection and treatment of genetic disorders. The Regenerative Medicine Research Group’s interests are in the area of adult & embryonic stem cells, inflammation & immune rejection, repair & regeneration, tissue engineering, and the development of novel therapeutic strategies. Each of the GRMRC researchers is assigned to one of these research topics, which overlap considerably. The cross-disciplinary research areas between the scientists will also help to spur great research ideas and ultimately improve the research outcomes. Together, our goal is to provide a “bench to bedside” approach to genetic research and regenerative medicine.
