Research Overview
Our group, Stem Cells and Molecular Group (SCMG) is involved in fundamental and applied research related to mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) and molecular biology studies pertaining to it. SCMG also engaged in genetic studies related to human genetics disorders and molecular prenatal diagnosis. Proteomics studies are also one of the interests of this group.
Current research projects focus on:
- Isolation and propagation of amniotic fluid MSCs using various media.
- Cytogenetics study on amniotic fluid MSCs.
- Development of microfluidic system prototype for sorting murine bone marrow MSCs.
- Genetics study on the transformation of murine bone marrow MSCs into sarcoma cells.
- Mutation screening of Malaysian hypophosphataemic rickets..
- Protein profiling of preterm placenta and plasma.
