Description

Stem Cell and Genetics Group (SCGG) aim to provide opportunities to undergraduates to gain hands-on laboratory experience. During their internship, students will expand their understanding of laboratory techniques such as PCR, stem cell culture and differentiation, flowcytometry, karyotyping and etc.

For final year or honour students who wish to do your laboratory attachment with SCGG, please kindly contact Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thilakavathy Karuppiah ([email protected]) with a cover letter indicating your aims, duration of intended attachment and a recent resume.  A bench fee and other charges which are payable by the student shall be as determined by the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM.

International Students

While International Students are being accepted, we do require you to have a good knowledge of English with proof of AT LEAST ONE of the following:

  • TOEFL minimum score 550
  • Computer Test - minimum score 213;
  • Internet Test - minimum score 79-80
  • IELTS minimum score 6.5 valid cerification

Formal applications should include a CV, a summary of the Bachelor/Master/PhD thesis, copies of degree certificates and names of two scientists who could provide letters of support.
